As many fans know, Teen Mom OG star Maci Bookout suffers from a condition called polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
In a recent episode of Teen Mom, Maci revealed that she’s been suffering from insomnia, not only because of her PCOS, but also because she had PTSD from witnessing a shooting.
Fans weren’t quick to believe Maci though, and now some of them are accusing her of using her illness as an excuse to be lazy.

Last season, Maci Bookout witnessed a shooting at a local gas station, which led to her having “debilitating insomnia.”
“Witnessing the shooting has given be debilitating insomnia,” she said in the voiceover on a recently Teen Mom OG episode. “The lack of sleep and my PCOS makes it so much harder to regulate my blood sugar.”
Later, Maci’s husband, Taylor McKinney, suggested she speak to a doctor.
“I’m tired of doctors,” Maci replied. “I feel defeated, so I don’t want to get my hopes up.”
Maci called friends from a PCOS support group and opened up about her sleeping problems.
“I realize that I’m not taking care of myself,” she said about not eating a healthy diet. “I’ll be 30 this year and I want to start now so that I’m not, 10 years later, turning 40 and I haven’t done anything.”
Maci previously opened up about struggling with PTSD after witnessing a shooting.
“A lot of the time me and Bentley used to spend together was in the car, but I haven’t been going to pick him up from school and I don’t want him thinking that I’m not interested or I don’t want to or that I don’t care,” she said, explaining that her fear of being in a car has impacted her relationship with Bentley. “I want to be able to bring it up and talk to him about it without seeming like it’s something he needs to be concerned about or worried about.”
“Cause that’s not the case at all. It’s just tough because if I expect him to be open and transparent and straightforward about how he’s feeling or what he’s going through, then I have to lead by example,” Maci added. “Especially when it comes to mental health. It’s nothing to be ashamed of.”
She explained that she wants to let her son know that she’s only human so that he doesn’t judge himself too harshly.
Although Maci doesn’t want to be too hard on herself, it appears fans are more than willing to pass judgements!
According to The Hollywood Gossip, fans are calling Maci out for not having a “real job.”
