Who's in the Spanish horror movie?

Where are all my horror fans at? On Aug. 25, the Spanish horror flick Killer Book Club drops on Netflix. So if you’re looking for something chilling to watch and something that’ll have you on the edge of your seat, you don’t want to miss this upcoming release.

Killer Book Club, also known as El club de los lectores criminals, is a Netflix original movie directed by Carlos Alonso-Ojea from a screenplay written by Carlos Garcia Miranda. Like many other Netflix films, it’s based on a book. It’s based on Carlos García Miranda’s book of the same name.

The film follows a group of young university students who are threatened and have to fight for their lives when an anonymous writer dressed in a clown costume begins to pick them off, one by one.

It all begins when the group of horror buffs takes part in a costume prank that ends with their professor dead. Working to put what happened behind them, they all vow not to speak about the fatal accident. But things become complicated when a killer clown threatens to reveal their darkest secret and post a horror novel based on them on social media. With every chapter published in the novel, the killer clown kills one of them. With a killer on the loose, it becomes a fight for survival.

Spanish actress Veki Velilla plays the role of Ángela. Veki is best known for playing the role of Olivia Ugarte in the Spanish TV show Anchored. She also had roles in other Spanish series, such as Amar en tiempos revueltos+ de 100 mentirasGarcía! and Noche de Chicas.

Álvaro Mel portrays the role of Sebas in the horror flick. He’s best known for starring as David in Netflix’s A Perfect Story. He also had roles in the Spanish shows A Different ViewLa Fortuna and Paraíso.

Ane Rot plays Sara in Killer Book Club. You might recognize her from the Spanish comedy film Por los pelos, una historia de autoestima. We’ll see her next in Elite season 8.

Iván Pellicer portrays the role of Nando. You might’ve watched him in the Spanish TV shows FugitivaElite Short Stories: PatrickParaíso and Holy Family.

The film is rated TV-MA, meaning it’s meant to be watched by mature, adult audiences only. It was given this maturity rating for strong language, nudity, sex, and violence. Overall, we would not recommend watching this with younger kids around.
