We are building a social network that doesn’t only promise to protect your privacy. It does so by design. On this site, we’d like to tell you a little about us. If you believe in our mission, we invite you to join us.
Our mission is to develop a social network that reflects universal human values, namely the respect of privacy. We believe the primary purpose of a social network should be to communicate with friends and loved ones. A social network shouldn’t exist to extract data from people in order to influence them. It is for people to communicate, first and foremost.
We are experienced software developers, technologists, and designers, who have spent years working with technologies to protect privacy. We believe now is the time to introduce to the world a truly privacy-respecting social network. We are not doing this to get rich. We are doing this because we believe it is needed.
We need a lot of help from people who share our vision. We are looking for developers, designers, and other talented people to help in the design and implementation. We also would really appreciate help in spreading the word. You can follow us on Twitter. You can, of course, share this website with your friends and family. If you are a journalist (or are friends with one), please get in touch.
We also have a low-volume mailing list. To sign up, use the form at the bottom of the page.
Last but not least, apart from initial startup funding from our founders, we are entirely community supported. We accept donations both large and small to support the development of Pondenome. To donate, visit our support page.
