On Oct. 19, Netflix added another thriller film to its platform called The Stranger. It stars Joel Edgerton in the leading role and includes many more wonderful actors. So if you’re looking for something to watch that’s dark and suspenseful, The Stranger is the film for you!
It’s based on Kate Kyriacou’s book The Sting: The Undercover Operation That Caught Daniel Morcombe’s Killer and is inspired by the heartbreaking, tragic true crime case of the abduction and murder of a 13-year-old boy, Daniel Morcombe.
The film’s story follows an undercover operative as he befriends a suspected murderer in an unsolved missing person’s case to earn his trust and get him to confess to the crime.

As we mentioned earlier, Golden Globe nominee Joel Edgerton plays the protagonist named Mark. Edgerton is best known for his role as Owen Lars in the Star Wars films Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. He also had roles in the movies King Arthur, Zero Dark Thirty, The Great Gatsby, Black Mass, Loving and Bright.
BAFTA Award winner Sean Harris stars opposite Edgerton and portrays the role of Henry Teague, the suspected murderer. You might recognize Harris from his other roles in the films Prometheus, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The King, Spencer and The Green Knight.
