On Jan. 1, Netflix released the classic comedy film Barbershop 2: Back in Business on its platform. As expected, many people are rewatching it to feel a strong wave of nostalgia. If you’re unaware, Barbershop 2 is a part of a successful film series. It is the sequel to the first movie Barbershop and the second movie in the film series. In addition, Kevin Rodney Sullivan directed the comedy movie from a screenplay written by Don D. Scott.
Barbershop 2 returns to the South Side Chicago barbershop owned by Calvin Palmer Jr. With a new rival barbershop across the street and a threat of gentrification impacting the close-knit community, Calvin must fight to keep his business open.

Ice Cube stars as the protagonist, Calvin Palmer Jr. You might recognize Ice Cube as a rapper in the American hip-hop group N.W.A. He also released solo rap albums. Later, he became an actor and has had roles in movies such as Boyz n the Hood, Higher Learning, Friday, Anaconda, The Players Club, Are We There Yet?, Lottery Ticket, 21 Jump Street, Ride Along, Straight Outta Compton and Fist Fight.
