American professional wrestler Thomas “Tommy” Edward Seigler Jr. was born on September 24, 1938, in Fieldale, Virginia. He performed under the ring name Tommy Seigler and held multiple wrestling titles, including the NWA British Commonwealth Heavyweight Championship, the NWA Macon Tag Team Championship, and the NWA Florida Television Championship. Tommy weighed 230 lb (104 kg) and was 6 ft 1 in (185 cm) tall.
When Tommy was a senior in high school, his family moved to Iva, South Carolina, where he attended Iva High School. There, he participated in baseball, basketball, football, and all-conference basketball. After earning his degree in 1956, Seigler relocated to Flint, Michigan, where he worked in the automobile industry, before moving back to South Carolina a year later. With the help of his father, he got his start in the construction sector and eventually proceeded to master pipefitting.
In 1963, while working as a construction worker in Pensacola, Florida, Seigler began working out at a nearby gym. Some local wrestlers approached him and persuaded him to try wrestling. Seigler began wrestling on the side while working in the construction industry. After six years of part-time participation, he decided to pursue wrestling full-time.
Seigler faced wrestler George Scott in Texas Stadium in Irving, Texas, on June 24, 1972, as part of Fritz von Erich’s Parade of Champions supercard. Seigler and his partner Argentina Apollo defeated Skandor Akbar and Rocket Monroe to win the NWA Macon Tag Team Championship on November 14th, 1972, before departing for the All-South Wrestling Alliance.
