Prince Harry 'avoids' friend's wedding as it'd be 'awkward' but the 'real reason is Meghan' - expert

Prince Harry is reportedly going to give friend’s – the Duke of Westminster – wedding a miss, in fears it’ll be “too awkward,” one expert claims, but Meghan Markle may be the actual reason.

Prince William will be in attendance at the joyous wedding, who is Prince George‘s godfather. However, due to her ongoing health issues, it’s unclear whether Kate Middleton will be by his side. One thing that has come out, is how Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be avoiding the ‘awkward run-in’ during seventh Duke of Westminster’s wedding at all costs.

Prince Harry to ‘avoid’ royal wedding due to ‘awkwardness’ – and Meghan

Hugh Grosvenor, the 7^th Duke of Westminster, is a close friend of both Harry and William, and his big day takes place this summer, conveniently near to when the Duke of Sussex is in London.

Harry will be back in the UK in May for an Invictus Games event, as many believed he would be in attendance at the wedding. However, royal expert and author Tom Quinn begs to differ.

“William will attend the wedding of Hugh Grosvenor, the seventh Duke of Westminster – he can hardly avoid it as Hugh is Prince George’s godfather,” Quinn told The Mirror.

“Harry declined on the grounds that it would just be ‘too awkward’,” he added.

“But there are other reasons – Harry knows he can’t attend without Meghan and Meghan has absolutely insisted she won’t be there.”

It’s believed the Sussexes received a ‘save the date’ card a few months ago, but Harry declined and made his apologies, which Hugh understood.

Megan is ‘rethinking UK’ trip due to safety fears

It’s believed Meghan was due to join Harry on his upcoming trip to the UK, however, sources are now claiming she’s rethinking the whole thing.

“It’s now got to the point where Meghan doesn’t want to come to the UK with the children. She just doesn’t feel safe,” an insider told OK! Magazine. “

The situation is now about whether the family should attend with increased security, or Harry should go it alone.”

However, it’s said the Duke doesn’t want to go alone and has ‘pleaded’ his wife to join him, as he feels a stronger connection to the UK now more than ever, after Kate and King Charles‘ health battles.
