Cuban politician who has served as the 25th president of Cuba since 2019. He has also acted as the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba since 2021. He was the First Vice President of the Council of States from February 2013 to April 2018.
Before Fame
His first high-ranking political position was as the Minister of Higher Education, and he served in that capacity from 2009 to 2012.

He married Lis Cuesta Peraza in 2009. They had two children together.
