Everyone was gushing over Jennifer Anistonās adorable tribute to Adam Sandler at the Peopleās Choice Awards ā well except for one person, apparently.
Jennifer Aniston walked up onto the Peopleās Choice Awards stage to honor Adam Sandler, her long-term friend and former co-star in multiple projects. The funny man was celebrated for his impressive comedy and film career. So the Friends star being asked to pay tribute beforehand was fitting. Fans on social media loved how Jennifer Aniston called Adam Sandler her ābrother from another motherā, but eagled-eyed viewers caught one celebrity not that bothered by it.
Jennifer Anistonās tribute to Adam Sandler upstaged by āboredā star
She began at the awards show: āTonight, I am here to recognize my very good friend. My brother from another mother. And extraordinary father, husband and one of the most loyal friends you could ever, ever, have.ā
Adam then stood up before the Murder Mystery star ordered him to sit back down.
She continued: āNo, sit down, Adam, Iām not done! Sit down! Eager to get up here! I love you!ā
She then spoke about his huge career, from Saturday Night Live to his comedy and drama movies.
āAnd yet in all of this extraordinary success, he has stuck to his roots; heās never strayed from the friends heās had for 35 years and counting,ā she added.
āHe created a world where he brings them into his movies ā basically getting to hang out with his buddies all day. And it doesnāt hurt that his friends happen to be some of the most talented and hilarious writers and actors out there.ā
Aniston then said on stage: āBeing his friend has been one of the great joys of my life.
āIām proud to honor him tonight and Iād happily keep honoring him for decades and decades to come because he deserves all the love in the world, all right? Come on, itās the Sandman!ā
However, as beautiful as the speech was, one celebrity was caught being more interested in their phone. They were filmed being proccupried instead of listening to Jennifer Anistonās tribute to Adam Sandler.
Dorit Kemsley, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, was seen scrolling on her phone. And if you look at the clip, all those around her were watching the stage. They knew the etiquette.
Awkward.
Adamās speech was just as iconic
But the powerful duo wouldnāt be fan-favorites without their wit, talent and relationship with their followers. So when it came to Adam Sandlerās turn, he pretended he thought Jennifer Aniston called him Peopleās Sexist Man Alive. He wrote a speech revolved around that ā in true Sandman style.
He couldnāt get through it without laughing, and fans loved it.
Adam tells the crowd his speech was inspired by him mishearing his agent on the phone when he was told about the award. The 50 First Dates star mistakenly thought he had won Peopleās Sexiest Man Alive award instead.
āSo I wrote a speech for that and I donāt have one prepared for the icon thing, but Iām going to do the speech I wrote,ā he began.
Sandler continued, in his signature comedy voice: āHello, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Adam Sandler and I am the Sexiest Man Alive. Can I get a, āHell yeahā?ā
The 57-year-old thanked the magazineās āacademy members of hotness and sexual attractivenessā for recognizing him as āthe man who made our entire country the horniest this year and was by far the most talked about person in the bedroom.ā
āI am trying to be gracious, People Magazine,ā Adam went on, but couldnāt help but laugh. āBut I have to admit three words keep popping into my head right now: about freaking time.ā
āFor decades Adam Sandler has been waiting patiently on the sexy bench with his legs wide open, radiating sensuality, finger-licking desirability and a slight man bulge, tastefully displayed for his or her pleasure.
āBut now that this award has finally been bestowed upon me, it will see proudly on my nightstand where it will witness many feats of romantic gymnastics performed for me by my fine as hell wife Jackelina,ā he said, in reference to his wife, Jackie Sandler.
He goes on to pay tribute to his daughters as he talks about his lack of āabsā.
Sandman, never change. Please.
