We’ve got another Dracula movie on the way, but this time it’s not all about the Prince of Darkness! Get ready to meet his loyal aide, Renfield! Prepare to meet the titular character when the film is released Friday, April 14, 2023. Will it be streaming on Netflix?
While the production isn’t completely focused on the infamous vampire, that doesn’t mean he’s not in it! Actor Nicholas Cage will be playing the iconic role, while Nicholas Hoult takes on the titular character who is at the center of the movie. Joining the two onscreen are Awkwafina as Rebecca Quincy, Ben Schwartz as Teddy Lobo, and Adrian Martinez as Chris Marcos.
So who is behind creating the film? Is it Netflix? We’ve got the answer for you below!
Unfortunately, if you were hoping to see the movie on Netflix, you won’t be able to. And there are two reasons. First, Renfield will be released exclusively in cinemas on premiere day. So the only way to watch the supernatural horror comedy is by going to your local theater.
What about afterward? Many studios send their films to the big screen first, then it comes to streaming. Eventually, when Renfield is available to watch online, it most likely won’t be on Netflix. That’s because the movie is a Universal Pictures production, meaning it will probably stream on Peacock. Both Universal and the streaming service are owned by NBC.
The supernatural production is centered around a “tortured” Renfield, who has to do his master Dracula’s bidding – like bringing him prey and anything else he asks for, per the synopsis. Centuries of servitude begin to weigh on the main character, and he decides to bring about change in his life. But he has to figure out how to do so without angering the Prince of Darkness.
Renfield will be released in theaters Friday, April 14, 2023.
