Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is now streaming on Netflix, and only a day after its release, it’s sitting at the No. 1 spot on the streamer’s top 10 TV shows list. But I mean, this comes as no surprise, seeing as though it’s a prequel to the smash-hit Netflix period drama Bridgerton. People were bound to tune in and watch Queen Charlotte’s (India Amarteifio) origin story be told.
The period drama takes place in two timelines: the past (1761) and the present (1817). Up-and-coming actress India Amarteifio plays the role of a young Queen Charlotte in the past timeline. In addition, Golda Rosheuvel reprises her role as Queen Charlotte from Bridgerton in the present timeline in this series.
In 1761, a young Charlotte discovers that her older brother has signed a betrothal contract for her marriage to King George III without her consent. Now, she must leave her home country of Germany behind to relocate to England. Once she arrives, she’s faced with having to navigate her new role as the Queen of England and her relationship with her new husband.
In 1817, Queen Charlotte is faced with the dilemma of needing a new royal heir to continue her and King George’s lineage after the sudden death of their only royal heir. In order to make this happen, Queen Charlotte pressures all of her children to marry respectable husbands and wives so that they can work on producing another royal heir.
Since Golda Rosheuvel was in Bridgerton seasons 1 and 2, we pretty much know everything there is to know about her. However, we don’t know much about newcomer India Amarteifio. So, we’ve decided to get to know her better by doing some research. Here’s what we found about the gifted actress below!
As of May 2023, India is 21 years old. She was born in Kingston upon Thames, England, on Sept. 17, 2001, to a Ghanaian father and a mother of German origin. Additionally, her astrological sign is Virgo.
India mentions her height in a Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story cast interview with DC Film Girl. At the 0:52 mark in the interview, she states that she’s 5 feet 6 inches tall. She’s six inches shorter than her Queen Charlotte co-star and love interest, Corey Mylchreest, who is 6 feet tall. Also, she’s an inch taller than her other Queen Charlotte co-star Arsema Thomas, who is believed to stand at 5 feet 5 inches.
India’s current relationship status is unknown. However, we know for sure that she isn’t dating Corey Mylchreest. Sorry to break it to you, Queen Charlotte fans.
India hasn’t publicly spoken about being in a relationship with anyone, nor has she been rumored to be dating. So, our guess is that she’s single at the moment.
